Frequently Asked Questions

Do I work with clients outside of North Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire?

Yes! While my in-person consultations are focused approximately on North Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire, I will travel to the rest of Lincolnshire, East Riding villages such as Beverley and even further to places like York, Leeds if needed regularly.

I also can work across the UK and Internationally.

Can I work with you remotely / online?

Yes! Absolutely!

Through video calls, mood boards and detailed plans, I can guide your project from first concept to finished room without ever needing to meet in person.

I can provide email communication and happy to answer any questions with a quick call.

Do you only do maximalist / bold interiors, or can you do something calmer too?

While bold, colourful spaces are my specialism, “bold” doesn’t have to mean loud. Some of my favourite projects use just one confident colour or a single characterful detail against a calmer backdrop. Whatever your style, at The Interior Mixologist I am happy to create a recipe of colour, texture and design that works to your ingredients.

What happens in an initial consultation?

I start with what I call The First Pour - a relaxed conversation about how you live, what you love, and what’s not working in your space right now. There’s no obligation and no jargon: its simply about understanding your taste and your goals before any design work begins.

Do I need to know what I want before I contact you?

Not at all! Some clients arrive with a clear vision, others just know their current space isn’t working and aren’t sure why. Either way, that’s exactly what the consultation process is for - we can figure it out together.

How long does a typical project take?

It depends on scope - a single room with colour consultancy might take a few weeks, while a full home re-design naturally takes longer. During our consultation, I will give you a realistic timeline specific to your project.

What's the difference between interior design, colour consultancy, and space planning?

Colour consultancy focuses purely on choosing and balancing your palette. Space planning looks at how your room functions - layout, flow, and furniture placement. Full interior design brings everything together: colour, layout, furniture, and finishing touches, blended into one cohesive space.

What's included in The Tasting Notes / The Full Pour / The Complete Cocktail?

How much does interior design cost in the UK?

Costs vary widely depending on project size.

I pride myself on being as accessible as I can to all budgets as I believe that every home has potential and that everything should have a bit of champagne living on a lemonade lifestyle!

My packages are structured to suit different budgets and needs so there’s a starting point for most projects.

Do you offer a starter or budget-friendly design service?

Yes - The Tasting Notes package is designed to be an accessible entry point, ideal if you want expert guidance without committing to a full home re-design.

Most clients can see the true value of what an Interior Designer can bring. Homes affect people’s wellbeing every day and so it can be a great investment.

Some people budget one room at a time and that’s a great budget-friendly way to improve your home in the long-term.
