The Brief
I want to change the layout of the ground floor of my cottage. Currently my kitchen is in the middle of the ground floor and so when friends come over (frequently) I am struggling to entertain and prep food. Everyone seems to get as far as the kitchen and congregate there and so I am bumping around trying to prep and socialise when really I need my own space. I also want direct easier access to the outdoor space. I love rustic cottage charm but don’t have the vision to come up with something that looks right for my home.
The Ingredients
A new layout that encourages a better flow for friends coming over so that Kelly has room to prep food
A new access route to the outdoor space by installing french doors and also bi-fold windows for ease of socialising
Three design schemes offered for the rustic charm in keeping with the cottage renovation

Revised ground floor layout showing an office area, coat and show storage in the hallway. Next is the family style room with direct access to the side garden with log burner. The new position of the kitchen at the far end with new bi-fold windows to socialise with guests in the back garden.
